We are looking for a Manager to act as a cross functional partner, and help us manage and evolve the way we drive high impact projects and initiatives across our Customer and Operations Services team. Sitting at the crucial intersection between our customers, partners, carriers and our internal Wayfair teams, this role will accelerate Wayfair towards our vision of delivering profitable growth, and a perfect order experience for our customers. 

 

What you will do

  • Set the standards for us to deliver initiatives across an organization of 1,000’s of colleagues across many functions, leveraging agile methodologies
  • Train and coach leaders and initiative managers on how to identify, size, design and deliver their efforts, adopting best practices and bringing them to the next level as change agents.
  • Own and manage our multiple operational sprints across Services, ensuring timely execution, supporting leads execute and acting as an enabler for the organization 
  • Act as a Senior Leader across global initiatives, incorporating them into our Initiative management process and helping us weave into the priority setting
  • Remove obstacles to initiative progress, collaborate with others to prioritise effort, support senior leads, make trade offs and evolve our plans as operational realities change. 
  • Ability to leverage improvement methodologies to improve performance, remove blockers or find new solutions
  • Lead our regular initiative governance across services, act as our quality gate to ensure standards for initiative management are adhered too and lead common agile governance (e.g.. Post mortems, backlog reviews etc…) 
  • Lead the effort to track long term impact of our initiatives, collaborating with other functions to quantity and validate impact
  • Accountable for the overall health of our initiative management process across European Services and compliance to our standard. 
  • Responsible for the delivery of our ambitious plans across Europe, collaborating with leaders to a timely execution

 

What you will need

  • A desire to work in and improve upon a fast-paced technology-driven business environment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, being able to build and run at the same time, energised by a complex and every changing environment.
  • Experience in leading agile organizations and initiatives, combining operations and technology - supporting others deliver bottom line impact. 
  • E-commerce, retail, consumer goods, or internet services experience and/or consulting background is advantageous
  • An accredited college or university degree and / or certification with emphasis on initiative management, agile methodology , product management or operations
  • Strong analytical skills, and comfortable utilizing data to solve problems and following structured approach
  • Comfortable with data analysis tools (e.g., Google Data Studio, Tableau, Lookers), ideally with experience using SQL and Database navigation. 
  • Experience managing projects from inception to completion, in an agile environment - using methodologies suited for fast paced, technology rich environments (e.g., Prince2 Agile PM, Certified Scrum Master, Six Sigma)
  • An open personality and confidence to work with mid level business partners
  • Strong communication skills, happy to work with individuals, senior leaders or large groups
  • Experience managing and building relationships cross functionally 
  • Experience managing and developing other team members
