One of the core pillars of our success is our proprietary end-to-end logistics network known as “CastleGate Logistics'' that enables us to drive speed, quality and lower costs. A key component of our logistics and supply chain footprint are our CastleGate Forwarding services. We are scaling a global digital freight forwarding business and developing a differentiated experience for importers, who want to be part of a supply chain for the e-commerce age. 

In this context we are looking for a Manager on our Operational Excellence team who can help us identify internal opportunities and lay the groundwork for scalable tools and processes as we continue to expand our supplier base and portfolio of freight services.. 

What You’ll Do

As a Manager, Operational Excellence at CastleGate Forwarding, you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Working closely as an individual contributor to execute on our vision and implement function specific strategies in the context of rapid growth.
  • Developing and scaling our capabilities to further our vision to become a leading global digital freight forwarder
  • Partnering with different operations teams to build scalable capabilities that enhance our ability to drive operational excellence and provide a superior customer experience
  • Driving the agenda with tech counterparts to build state-of-the art global platforms and capabilities
  • Doing rapid diagnostics on processes to then design and implement solutions that allow us to scale 2x within 12 months and 3-4x in 12-24 months
  • Developing new processes across various parts of our operations from order management to origin and destination side operations as we scale and increase in complexity with new services, new lanes etc. 
  • Driving process standardization and documentation
  • Driving root cause analyses and designing solution for exceptions across various parts of the value chain in international freight management 
  • Developing the long term strategy for the operational excellence function. 

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive relevant experience (5+ years), for instance in management consulting, process excellence or similar industries and/or e-commerce; 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment
  • Proven track record of leadership, taking ownership, and driving results
  • Ability to develop, articulate, and execute strategy
  • Ability to multi-task and pivot priorities as data-led insights evolve
  • Ability to partner effectively with multiple stakeholders within a dynamic organization
  • Comfort in technology-driven business environment

 

Nice to haves:

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree
  • Familiarity with supply chain operations, logistics, or home-related industries 
  • Prior experience in building and leading high performing teams
  • Formal credentials or training in lean business operations (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean certification)
