Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is seeking a Senior Manager, Visual Merchandising for the All Modern brand who will manage and supervise strategic and creative initiatives in the All Modern physical retail stores. This role will be a part of the Physical Retail Visual Team that will help implement the playbook to stand up and scale stores in North America for All Modern.

 

The VM Senior Manager - All Modern, will work with cross-functional partners (e.g., Merchandising, Creative, Store Operations) to build and execute a strategy that supports All Modern’s expansion of physical retail - translating brand, product and marketing strategies into creative presentations to support all store touchpoints. We are seeking a motivated leader who can develop our visual merchandising strategy and provide thought leadership to ensure that All Modern is a substantial contributor to the financial success of our physical retail platform.

 

This role is based in Boston and reports to the Associate Director of VM for SRBs (Specialty Retail Brands). The VM Senior Manager- All Modern has significant cross-functional responsibility and opportunity for exposure to the Physical Retail Leadership team as well as the All Modern brand team. As the retail portfolio grows and further All Modern stores open, this role will work to build scalable processes, strategies, and grow a team to manage an increasing number of assets and transactions for the brand.

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

  • Create and execute overall store visual merchandising strategy in partnership with Associate Director - SRBs ensuring strategy is in line with brand priorities to deliver consistent omni-channel experience.
  • Design appealing merchandising displays for the sales floor and windows that attract visitors to the store (traffic) and drive sales (conversion).
  • Develop and evolve in-store product placement strategy and execution.
  • Integrate seasonal marketing strategy into physical retail experience.
  • Identify and develop props, creative materials and accessories for All Modern
  • Partner with All Modern Merch. team to understand upcoming product & promotional plans to integrate these plans into physical retail execution.
  • Work with visual, merchandising and HR teams to develop standardization of product training tools (standards guide, floorset direction, VM styling guardrails)
  • Develop and execute strategies to promote new and featured products and promotions to reflect seasonal themes or offerings.
  • Liaise with other internal partners, including merchandising, marketing, promotion, operations, and planning/allocation
  • Manage timeline and process for seasonal visual reviews and leadership sign-offs 
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends, competitive set, research lifestyle and design trends that will inform the merchandising strategy and keep each All Modern competitive and relevant in our every evolving retail landscape.
  • Test, learn, and evolve visual solutions and compare results. With geographic expansion, establish and test potential for regional merchandising solutions.
  • Oversee the in-season presentation management program to drive executional consistency across the fleet.

What You’ll Need:

  • Physical retail experience required, with preferred experience in standing up a retail store program and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • 5+ years of Visual Leadership experience
  • Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to lead important strategic initiatives and multitask.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Software
  • Proven team management and leadership skills; can inspire and motivate teams to bring future state vision to life
  • Able to collaborate across all levels of the organization to achieve objectives
  • Adaptability to organizational changes and complex structures
  • High degree of integrity and confidence in one’s abilities as a business and visual leader
  • Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” and a “get it done” attitude when time is tight and stakes are high
  • Thrives in a high growth, ambiguous environment
