Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is seeking a Senior Manager, Visual Operations, SRBs to direct a key function within the Visual Department that will enable the organization’s physical retail agenda. This role will be an integral part of the Physical Retail Visual Team that will help develop and implement the playbook to stand up and scale stores in North America across the family of Specialty Brands (All Modern, Joss & Main, & Birch Lane) 

The Senior Manager, Visual Operations, SRBs will work across the team and with cross-functional partners (e.g., Merchandising, Creative, Store Operations) to project manage the creation and implementation of the visual operations structure and standards for the Specialty Brands.  We are seeking a motivated individual who can facilitate the building and optimization of the visual operations platform to support the department functions to ensure that our stores are a major contributor to the financial success of Wayfair’s physical retail platform.

This role is based in Boston and reports to the Head of Visual Merchandising Operations. The Senior Manager, Visual Operations, SRBs has significant cross-functional responsibility and opportunity for exposure to the Physical Retail Visual team. As the retail portfolio grows, the Senior Manager, Visual Operations, SRBs will work to build out a team to manage an increasing number of assets and transactions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all visual merchandising standard operating procedures for Specialty Brands ensuring consistency across platforms
  • Maintain the department budget and drive expense control and financial planning for the visual team
  • Manage departmental priorities of execution based on timeline targets and vision adjusting and refocusing as needed leveraging project management practices to ensure success
  • Work cross functionally with Store Operations team to facilitate a platform level visual store opening program to support the planned new store velocity
  • Oversee logistics and business requirements for building out and maintaining a mock store for the specialty brands.
  • Support the visual team in optimizing cross functional work flows that equip our department and partners to execute visual operations work effectively and efficiently
  • Manage visual supply and visual propping program maintaining strong vendor relationships and initiating contracts with new companies as needed. 
  • Oversee labor planning & scheduling requirements for in-store visual merchandising and marketing activity
  • Build influential relationships with leadership across other departments including IT, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Marketing, and Finance among others
  • Execute visual merchandising KPI reporting, analyze, assess and activate key learnings to drive financial performance of each brand’s store fleet
  • Author regular business updates to keep the Wayfair organization informed of all milestones, interdependencies, and potential risks related to project status for Specialty Brands.

What You’ll Need:

  • Physical retail experience preferred, ideally with experience in standing up a retail store program
  • 5+ years of Visual or Store Operations experience
  • Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to manage important strategic initiatives and multitask
  • Advanced Proficiency in Excel and Adobe Creative Cloud Software
  • Proven team management and leadership skills; can inspire and motivate teams to bring future state vision to life
  • Able to collaborate across all levels of the organization to achieve objectives
  • Adaptability to organizational changes and complex structures
  • High degree of integrity and confidence in one’s abilities as a business and visual leader
  • Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” and a “get it done” attitude when time is tight and stakes are high
  • Thrives in a high growth, ambiguous environment
