Senior Payroll Analyst - Financial Operations Team

Wayfair’s EU Financial Operations team is seeking a Payroll Senior Associate, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager based in our Financial Shared Services team in Galway. We are looking for the right individual to support the European Payroll team. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and planning skills, highly motivated, detail oriented, collaborative, self-motivated, customer oriented mindset, a high sense of urgency and problem-solving abilities to the role. This person should be smart, engaging, fun, curious, and unflappable!
Wayfair’s EU Financial Operations team supports and manages the day-to-day activities for many teams across the organization. These activities include Invoice processing, supplier & vendor statement reconciliation and payment, cash collections, expense payments, employee salary payments, supplier credit card programs..The list goes on ! This team serves as a Finance service centre for all employees, Suppliers, Vendors, Category Management, Offshore teams, legal, HR. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Take full ownership of completing Monthly Payroll to ensure the timely processing of payroll across several EU entities with primary responsibility for France and Italy.
- Ensure payroll reporting and employee payments are accurate and compliant with company policy and local country and EU regulations
- Working within the payroll team to assist your team mates with their workload and cover periods of leave.
- Responsible for building and maintaining the following guidelines and training documents:
- Payroll Process documentation
- Up to date Payroll InfoHub page
-Payroll data in various systems
- Ensuring quality and completeness of payroll data across company systems
- Respond to employee tickets and resolve employee monthly payroll queries in line with Payroll SLAs - A relentless focus to employee satisfaction must be maintained at all times
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Talent teams, Customer Service management, Finance team) to ensure a smooth and accurate monthly payroll process
- Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives across teams:
- Ensure timely guidance is provided to the Business on Payroll timelines & expectations,
- Embrace Wayfair's People Principles,
- Find ways to continuously improve efficiency of all tasks within your remit.
- Respond to audit queries and regulatory inquiries, as needed
Ad hoc responsibilities:
- Market expansion involvement as required
- Play an active role in Payroll related projects which may arise
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Payroll qualification desirable
- At least 2-3 years of experience working in a busy Payroll environment with experience managing payroll for multiple European countries.
- An understanding of French and Italian Taxation and Statutory requirements is a strong advantage.
- Previous experience working with a Third Party payroll provider is advantageous
- Experience of Payroll migrations and new market expansions is beneficial.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong planning and forward-thinking capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and situations before they are fully developed.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Enterprise Suite tools (calendar, mail drive, docs, sheets, slides, meet)
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Proficient in French and Italian reading and writing
- Extremely high level of discretion pertaining to confidential information
- Flexible and able to handle ad hoc issues that may arise outside of core business hours
