Job Description

Merchandising Technology is responsible for the technology products that get Wayfair’s massive catalog of SKUs eCommerce ready, including assortment planning, imagery and 3D/AR content creation, and storage/delivery of media assets. Our systems, which leverage several bespoke data science capabilities, are core to Wayfair’s business model and drive significant impact for the company. Product Analytics enables Merchandising Technology to build a rich data asset and make data-driven decisions across the product lifecycle.

As a Senior Product Analyst, your goal is to find insights that shape product direction and unlock business value. You will leverage an advanced analytics skill set to investigate user behavior, measure the impact of product releases, and build dashboards to expose data to end users. This is an exciting opportunity for strong analysts to have an impact from day one, grow their technical skillset, and get exposure to a variety of teams across technology & business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Write optimized code to execute advanced analyses that deliver insights about our products & users that shape product strategy
  • Develop compelling data visualizations & dashboards to make data & simpler analyses self-service for product managers and business operators
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and business to identify the most impactful ways for data and analytics to drive decision making and accelerate our core metrics
  • Become the go-to expert on data, analytics, & testing for your core product domains and define ways to improve them to support the analytics agenda
  • Participate in regularly team knowledge sharing sessions to continue developing your skill set and contribute to the development of the broader product analytics team

What You'll Need:

  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant field
  • Fluency in SQL or structured computer programming language(s) like Python or R. Experience with Google Big Query is a plus.
  • Experience with visualization tools, such as Google Data Studio or Looker
  • Experience designing and implementing quantitative analyses on large and complex datasets
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills; demonstrated success leveraging them to solve complex problems and communicate insights to cross-functional partners
  • Desire to work on a highly collaborative team that likes to whiteboard ideas as a group; we fundamentally believe that we all have something to learn from each other
  • Bachelors and Masters in quantitative discipline preferred; comparable experience considered in lieu of this
