We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Design Manager to work in our Supplier Account Management (SAM) workstream. We are in the early days of capturing a multi-billion dollar opportunity, and you will be joining us in the foundational stages of our journey. The Supplier Account Management (SAM) team, based in Berlin, is responsible for building our next-generation Supplier management platform. We develop our best-in-class tools using a Design System together with enterprise components and frameworks. The platform we provide accelerates Wayfair's teams while enabling best-in-class strategic advice for growth and service for our suppliers. We have big aspirations for more advanced, differentiated services that will help our teams onboard, manage, grow, and optimize suppliers by helping build their e-commerce business and boosting their performance.

As the Senior Product Design Manager for SAM, you will join us to lead the team accountable for designing our Supplier Management Platform, discovering new solutions that help hit our outcomes around improved user experience, efficiency, and scalability. You will partner with internal Stakeholders, Product Managers, Research, Content Strategists, and Engineers to understand our user's problems, needs, and end-to-end use cases to contribute to continuing designing a user-centric platform.

What you‘ll do

 

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Be a thoughtful leader who can take a step back on overarching goals and opportunities while acting as a product design practitioner who meticulously works alongside their team with domain knowledge and design advocacy.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders, Product Managers, Engineers, Content Strategy, UX researchers, and other Designers to lead design concepts that deliver on business goals, solve user needs, and are technically feasible to implement.
  • Run design thinking, research, and exploration activities to help your team navigate ambiguous problem spaces. 
  • Seek out and utilize data to make informed design decisions and impact product roadmap.
  • Conceptualize and create design mockups from sketches, wireframes, and other UX deliverables that represent your design thinking.
  • Advocate for design thinking process and drive a 360-degree design view of Wayfair suppliers throughout Supplier Account Management.
  • Mentor, manage and hire designers within the Supplier Account Management Org to elevate our design processes and craft.
  • Structure and plan user research activities (quantitative and qualitative) to unveil new design approaches or iterate existing ones across Supplier Account Management.

What you‘ll need

  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Have an inclusive and adaptable management style that ensures team health and efficiency in a multicultural work environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills focused on collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups, communicating with diverse audiences, and balancing/negotiation priorities.
  • Expertise in crafting and coordinating relevant deliverables, including an online portfolio that demonstrates an unfailing advocacy for the user, highlighting: detailed site maps, user flows/task flows, user journeys, page flows, wireframes, annotations, and prototypes representing interaction recommendations.
  • Experience with leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions and measure their impact.
  • Passion for building functional and engaging user experiences with a strong user-centric focus.
  • Strong skills developed for modern design processes, including design tools.
  • Self-driven and independent

Nice to have would be experienced with:

  • Experience creating or working with Design Systems
  • Experience running workshops for Design Discovery
  • Experience designing complex B2B products (CRM experience is a plus)
  • A mix of start-up and large-company experience
