Wayfair believes everyone should live in a home they love. Through technology and innovation, Wayfair makes it possible for shoppers to quickly and easily find exactly what they want from a selection of more than 15 million items across home furnishings, decor, home improvement, housewares, and more. Committed to delighting its customers every step of the way, Wayfair is reinventing the way people shop for their homes – from product discovery to final delivery.

The Catalog Domain Services department is on a mission to create highly scalable, flexible software that allows Wayfair to give each Customer and Supplier an ideal experience. We operate as an enterprise-level interface between Wayfair’s Catalog of 15M+ products and other major business areas (e.g., marketing, web/mobile, supply chain) who access our data billions of times daily to power their operations in increasingly dynamic ways. Additionally, we blaze the trail for identifying and adopting new technologies to power a more efficient and flexible technical ecosystem throughout Catalog engineering, often in collaboration with other groups across Wayfair engineering.

If you are interested in solving high-impact operational and technical challenges at the core of a highly-scaled e-commerce business alongside great colleagues, there is no better place to be.

In this role, you will provide product leadership for high-impact initiatives related to how Suppliers, internal teams throughout Wayfair, and third parties manipulate and manage merchandising data throughout Wayfair’s catalog. This is a very cross-functional, high-visibility role with the potential to substantially impact Wayfair’s long-term success.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as the Senior Product Manager for Catalog Manipulation, leading the product strategy and roadmap for a highly utilized internal platform team within Catalog Engineering.
  • You will envision and guide the creation of new technical capabilities that allow Wayfair’s tens of thousands of Suppliers (and increasingly third party platforms) to seamlessly interact with our catalog of >15 million products, making Wayfair an even more seamless extension of their business.
  • Serve as a major service-oriented orchestration platform for internal engineering teams that need to add and update critical “source of truth” product data throughout the catalog to power ongoing operations, investing in critical new capabilities that support Wayfair’s continued growth (e.g., highly customizable products).
  • Guide problem scoping and discovery across multiple functional areas, drive requirements synthesis, and facilitate prioritization to determine how Wayfair should invest in technical capabilities that drive the highest impact business outcomes.
  • You will act with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, creating strong relationships with senior cross-functional leaders (both technical and non-technical), establishing a shared vision for success, and delivering results that create measurable business impact.
  • This is a senior individual contributor role.

What You'll Need:

  • 6+ years of product management or comparable experience in an agile development environment, ideally with exposure to a relevant product area (eCommerce or B2C; SaaS platforms; Enterprise application experience).
  • Past experience successfully driving large, technical, cross-functional product initiatives with significant business impact.
  • A high degree of technical fluency, with familiarity building technical platforms operating at scale in large engineering organizations using modern software development tools (orchestration engines, top-tier programming languages, SQL vs. NoSQL databases, API technologies, event-streaming, etc.)
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with hypothesis-driven problem solving and turning data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience forming consensus out of ambiguity and complexity, influencing senior business and engineering leaders, and driving teams forward with sustainable urgency towards clear goals
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity and fast paced  environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, economics) or equivalent practical experience
