The mission of our Competitive Intelligence team is to define, gather, analyze and distribute market intelligence about competitors to enable market-based assessments of Wayfair’s business performance, guide targeted interventions, and track progress filling competitive gaps. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with our Competitive Intelligence business partners and engineering teams to build our next generation Competitive Intelligence systems delivering faster value and scaling to meet expansive business needs. The experienced PM must have a proven track record of driving complex products through all phases of their life cycle.  This role is ideal for someone who's both business and tech-savvy and thrives in a fast-paced environment.  This candidate must be proficient in navigating the multitude of good ideas and deliver those ideas that deliver the highest value to the business.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with various business stakeholders to identify and develop key requirements for strategic initiatives and build the business requirements to execute on them.  
  • Measure, evaluate and report on the team's success towards key initiatives.
  • Craft problem statements that align with key objectives that have quantifiable outcomes if solved.  
  • Understand complex business problems and be able to articulate the value derived from solving them.  
  • Help guide the transition of our business systems towards next generation architecture focusing on future scalability, performance and unlock additional value for the business from the vast competitive intelligence data we gather  
  • Present findings with a clear point of view that is grounded by data, so that insights can be used to help drive business strategy and technology projects
  • Be the primary product manager for one or more engineering teams

What we’re seeking:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Manager.  Comparable roles in business analysis and consulting are considered but some PM baseline required.
  • Leader with the proven ability to manage and mentor a team of product managers and analysts.
  • Bias for action and ability to work well within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Passionate about solving complex business problems
  • Superior communication and stakeholder management skills at the senior leadership level; demonstrated experience driving success in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • You possess an affinity for data, and resourcefulness in obtaining data when clean and or complete information is not available
  • Possess strong written and verbal cross-functional communication skills
  • Positive, people-oriented, and enthusiastic
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other concentrations with heavy quantitative focus strongly preferred
  • SQL experience is a plus
