Wayfair’s Search and Recommendations team provides the core platforms and services that empower customers to discover and buy the products they love by serving the right content at every touchpoint. Our systems leverage Wayfair’s extensive customer and product data to deliver trusted and valuable recommendations and search results in real time using custom machine learning models and proprietary data sources. Wayfair is looking for a Senior Program Manager of Data Quality and Taxonomy to join the team and take ownership of a roadmap that creates a unified understanding of our catalog and customers. In this role you will transform disparate sources of data into a concept store that unlocks new data science capabilities and improves the customer experience. A major driver of Wayfair’s success is the ability to deliver high value product recommendations, and you’ll be at the helm of the underlying platform that powers it all. 

What You'll Do

  • Work with a cross functional team of engineers, data scientists, and analysts to create a shared understanding of our customer and catalog
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Wayfair to identify opportunities and deliver meaningful outcomes
  • Build and own an extensive roadmap that’s one step ahead of our data science needs and provides continued transparency across the organization
  • Be the single point of contact for data quality across the organization
  • Set objectives and key results that unlock new opportunities

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of product experience with a history of delivering successful products across the full product lifecycle.
  • Direct experience building knowledge graphs or similar concepts
  • Experience working in an agile engineering environment
  • Familiarity with ML and experience working with data scientists
  • Ability to be able to run ad hoc SQL queries and be comfortable with basic analytics
  • Proven ability to make data driven decisions and a familiarity recommender systems and search technologies
  • Proven ability to manage and communicate to a diverse set of stakeholders. You will need to manage competing priorities and requests. You will need to be able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences and have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in ecommerce or with recommender systems
