Senior Product Manager - Media Standards

Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our Product team plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality for millions of people around the world. Partnering with Engineering, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair, our Product team ensures that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways.

We’re tackling a wide array of fascinating, incredibly difficult problems - like helping a massive, rapidly growing global customer base efficiently find the perfect products from our catalog of >22M items (with the majority of traffic on mobile), helping a variety of suppliers (some small, some big) find new customers for their products and build their brands. We have sophisticated capabilities around AI, data science, multivariate testing and personalization. And we’re a highly collaborative, supportive team that values learning, psychological safety and intentional career development.

Media (images, videos, etc.) plays an important role in how customers shop for products online. The importance of media is even more for furniture and home décor products, that customers have traditionally touched and seen in a shop before purchase.

To ensure optimal customer experience, business teams at Wayfair create “Media Standards”. A couple of things in the “Media Standards”

  • Media recommended for each product (e.g., images, video, 3D spinner, etc.), number of media of each type (e.g. 2 videos, 1 video, etc.), resolution & aspect ratio (for images), etc.
  • Site presentation e.g. what should be the lead media, order in image tray

We are looking for a product leader to build the “Media Virtuous Cycle”:

  • Define the parameters of media standards
  • Nudge suppliers to meet the standards
  • Boost products that meet our media standards
  • Understand the impact of media and our standards using a variety of methods, including customer/supplier user research, quantitative analyses and A/B experiments
  • Update the standards automatically

The leader will work with user research to understand supplier and customer media needs, build a strategy and roadmap for Media Standards, work with multiple engineering teams to deliver the roadmap and work with data scientists to measure the value.

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of experience building high-impact products
  • Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and metrics
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
  • Cross-functional leadership experience
