The Marketing Technology product team builds the global engine for the world’s leading online home destination that powers our customer acquisition and retention efforts touching hundreds of millions of consumers.

This Sr. PM role will own the middleware that knits together the millions of SKUs in Wayfair’s product catalog and inventory databases with our advertising vendors who depend on constant flows of this data to power customer marketing. 

This technology backbone, now relaunched as a net-new platform, is key to many of Wayfair’s marketing initiatives and its inputs and impacts span the entire company while also driving billions of dollars in yearly revenue for Wayfair. To be successful, this role will have interactions with key leaders from throughout Wayfair from merchandising and supply chain through marketing and also external partners such as Google and Facebook.

A successful candidate will have experience building complex, resilient Internet-scale data pipelines, with particular experience in on-line retail a plus. Understanding digital advertising mechanics, especially paid search and product listing ads, would be valuable in building business cases for future development. This is a technical product management position requiring enough fluency in the underlying technologies to credibly engage developers and data scientists in conversations around architecture and delivery.   

The role will also closely partner with Marketing channel leaders to understand their business goals as they relate to product feeds. Our ideal candidate is a product athlete, fluent in Agile and other leading product development frameworks, with a history of successfully designing and launching B2B products.

This position can be based in Boston, Austin, Toronto, Mountain View, Berlin, or remote in other US cities with a 10% monthly on-site presence in Boston.

You will:

  • Own product development and roadmaps for Wayfair’s advertising product data feeds ,data pipeline and feed optimization
  • Work with a wide array of upstream and downstream stakeholders to deeply understand the product’s business context and co-develop potential solutions to supercharge growth, improve efficiency, and increase automation.
  • Develop data quality and reliability standards and work with the operations team to automate monitoring and response.
  • Work with external vendors such as Google, Facebook, and Microsoft to fully leverage their capabilities, identify breakthrough opportunities, and resolve operational issues.
  • Use Agile processes to collaborate with Engineering and Data Science to execute on your roadmap while harnessing the power of emerging technologies.
  • Perform hands-on data sampling and analysis to assess feed issues and prototype new feeds.
  • Work with the larger Ad Tech team to ensure tight technological and strategic alignment with Wayfair’s overall platform.
  • Communicate and evangelize the product vision and progress throughout Wayfair from C-level stakeholders on down.
  • Develop and monitor OKRs for key product initiatives and ensure alignment with stakeholder objectives.
  • Work with leadership to improve product craft and processes throughout the extended Ad Tech team.

Desired Skills / Experience

  • 6+ years in B2B software/SaaS product management with exposure to the full lifecycle from concept to launch and beyond.
  • 2+ years building highly reliable data pipelines, APIs, or feeds relating to structured content from diverse sources. Working with product information or in an e-commerce environment is a big plus.
  • Understanding of digital advertising format types (paid search, display, video, etc.) and workflows. Experience with paid search and product listing ads is a huge plus.
  • Builder mentality -- you think in terms of customer problems and technology solutions, and have demonstrated success in creating business-focused products.
  • Sufficient technical literacy to both understand the underpinnings of products to make key decisions as well as effectively communicate with engineers and data scientists.
  • SQL data wrangling skills, ability to create data stories and reports with visualization tools such as Looker, and experience calling APIs using Python or other languages is a plus. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at the senior leadership level.
