Senior Program Manager, International Supply Chain

Wayfair’s International Supply Chain (Castlegate Forwarding) division is looking for a Senior Program Manager to drive our freight forwarding customer experience roadmap. We offer a full suite of shipping services (consolidation, ocean freight, drayage, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, etc.) that provides Wayfair suppliers with a turn-key freight forwarding service so they can scale their business. Moving freight efficiently and reliably from factories to warehouses has never been more challenging than it is in 2021, and our team is committed to making this experience as predictable and seamless as possible. You will own both strategy and hands-on execution of multiple initiatives, working closely with our marketing, product, and line operations teams. Success in this role means developing and executing on high-priority projects that allow us to become a best-in-class digital freight forwarder.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives working on cross-functional projects with a willingness to get to the bottom of things and an eye for details.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead our International Supply Chain Customer Experience Program Management function
  • Partner closely with Product and Marketing leaders to uncover customer pain points in our freight forwarding business
  • Identify both short-term, scrappy solutions as well as longer term tech-enabled approaches to solving customer pain points
  • Drive new programs in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Leverage data to support your recommendations and persuade stakeholders
  • Prioritize competing interests and focus project plans on the highest impact activities
  • Help define new processes and improve existing processes across functions

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of experience (MBA or other graduate degrees welcome but not required)
  • Experience in freight forwarding, supply chain operations, marketing, product development, finance, and/or management consulting is a plus
  • Strong executive presence, organizational agility, and ability to build trust and confidence of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with complex operational, process, and performance improvement projects
  • Analytics savvy – familiarity with Excel, SQL, and google suite products a plus
  • Innovative problem-solving skills  – ability to determine root causes of problems and implement solutions
  • People management experience would be helpful but is not required

About Wayfair’s International Supply Chain (Castlegate Forwarding) Group

We are building a global digital freight forwarder for Wayfair — we ensure we can move products from wherever they are manufactured around the world to all our markets. At the origin side, our team works with factories and warehouses to understand production schedules and product availability in order to manage export and import customs clearance and streamline the downstream transportation legs. Since our business line is not only responsible but also accountable for the timely movements of goods, we have heavily invested in technology that allows us to make sure things flow smoothly and on time. This investment has allowed ISC to break into the top 35 of Beneficial Cargo Owner (BCO) importers in North America.
