Our Catalog Media Engineering (CME) team is currently looking for senior software engineers to help shape the future of Wayfair’s technical stack and drive best engineering practices. As we migrate our monolithic code base over to an SOA, we’re looking for engineers who are ready to help us deliver cutting edge solutions to all Wayfair customers!

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect and write code to implement high-quality, scalable services with effective system boundaries that will support our long-term vision & strategy.
  • Lead your teammates by example, as a senior member of the team you will let your code and system designs demonstrate the path the team should follow.
  • Use your deep understanding of Wayfair infrastructure and drive changes to support our technology strategy enabling engineers across the department to deliver value efficiently.
  • Lead technical debate and decision making ensuring no-regret decisions with appreciation for trade-offs. 
  • Nurture collaborative ways of working that grow the team, its members, and the product: testing practices, TDD, pairing/mobbing, continuous deployment, domain-driven design.
  • Influence and contribute to the technical and product strategy and roadmap.

 What You’ll Need:

  • 8+ years of experience as Software Engineer with experience in designing and building large scale platforms. 
  • Deep understanding of modern programming languages such as Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions with customer experience and scalability on top of mind.
  • Experience developing microservices in highly available and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience deploying solutions into production within GCP, AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike.
  • Experience in defining standards and best practices around APIs/Restful services on different frameworks. 
  • Passion for leading cross functional projects through collaboration and influencing design decisions.
