CastleGate Forwarding is an organization within Wayfair which is focused on providing strategic

supply chain services to Wayfair suppliers. We offer a full suite of shipping services (consolidation, ocean freight, drayage, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, etc.) so that suppliers can scale their business.

In this role, you will support the customs & trade team within Castlegate Forwarding.

You will help enable Wayfair’s customs & trade strategy and own customs-related initiatives that bring compliance, scale and long-term savings to Castlegate Forwarding (CGF). This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience working in trade compliance but is innovative, data-driven and loves problem solving.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage to excellence existing customs brokers through continuous improvements, KPI monitoring, tech integration oversight, SLA and Quarterly Business reviews, etc.
  • Problem solve import-export issues in order to ensure timely customs clearance and final delivery.
  • Oversee existing customs-related activities including duty drawback, self-filing program, CBP requests, etc. 
  • Identify transactions and tasks that require special handling and recommend improved processes to management and help drive corrective actions.
  • Draft and update Compliance procedures and manuals
  • Performs audits and internal procedures as needed
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and attends customs seminars as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The following skills will be beneficial to a candidate looking to apply for this role:

  • Prior experience in a trade compliance/customs group
  • Knowledge and experience with US and CA Import-Export regulations including classification, valuation, duty drawback, Section 321, Partner Government Agency requirements such as FDA, EPA, FWL, CTPAT/PIP, etc.
  • Customs broker license preferred
  • Ocean Import knowledge strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with SQL a plus
