The Castlegate Forwarding team is embarking on a new journey to build our own core operating system (NaviOS) to power our growing freight forwarding business. Today, the combination of 3rd party tools and in-house addons powers the business. This system has allowed the business to grow so far, but NaviOS will be the platform of the future which will serve as the single source of truth for tracking the real world digitally. You will be instrumental to the success of this very high profile project.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, operate, and maintain cutting-edge solutions which allow for reuse and extensibility while still solving the primary problem at scale
- Build solutions for multiple services, work in the code, and understand at a detailed level how the software works
- Cultivate a deep understanding of how your systems impact Wayfair’s customers, field associates, and other systems
- Help grow other engineers technically by mentoring, pairing, and developing other learning opportunities
- Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence and strengthen the technical expertise of our engineering and product teams
Who You Are:
- Experience as a full stack, full lifecycle software engineer and deep understanding of a modern programming language (such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C#, Scala, GO, or others)
- Proficient in designing systems at scale and relational database schema design
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineer
- Proficient in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques
