Wayfair is moving the world so that anyone can live in a home they love – a journey enabled by more than 3000 Wayfair engineers. Fraud Prevention is one of the global domains run from our Berlin office. Its mandate is to make sure that fraudsters stay out, while legitimate customers aren’t blocked from shopping for their home.

Handling fraud attempts at our scale is a huge, but exciting challenge. In 2020, Wayfair served >31M customers and generated revenue of >$14B growing 55% YoY. In the past, these problems were approached with a lot of manual work or static rulesets. Nowadays, such a task requires the latest learnings in predictive analytics.

Our very cross-functional team is nimble, small, delivers outsized impact and iterates fast. You can expect to start making an impact on production during your first week. We value collaboration and innovation –  whether that's in brainstorming sessions or pair programming.

Our industry-standard tech stack revolves around Java, Spring Boot, Docker & Kubernetes, with a mix of REST and Kafka for communication, and leveraging cloud computing (Google Cloud Platform). Bonus points if you can teach us Kotlin. The data science part of the team uses Python, so if you're happy to play with both stacks you'll be making immediate friends there.

Despite working remotely due to covid, we're a tightly-knit team that tries to spend time together on team "innings" - which hopefully will turn into outings as soon as it's safe! If this sounds like an environment you'd thrive in, we're looking forward to seeing your application.
