The Algorithms team at Wayfair creates decision frameworks, data artifacts and systems that effectively guide business strategies and decision-making across Wayfair. These algorithms leverage best-in-class approaches across machine learning, economics and statistics to drive high business impact. We are hiring a technical leader to drive the development of our next generation algorithms platform that helps drive our retail pricing, profitability and replenishment decisions across the entire catalog.

The Pricing Org is undergoing two critical transformations and we are looking for a technical leader to help drive this change.

The first is a technology transformation from a set of tightly coupled, monolithic, batch processing systems  that price our catalog to a highly performant, event-driven, service based pricing architecture with strong operational posture .   Our team works with big data at scale and needs to support services handling over 10K requests / sec and manage datasets in the 100’s of TB.  The second is a business transformation in how we price products driven by our merchandising vision.  The challenge for our team over the next year is to execute against these two visions (technical and business) so that we can accurately calculate prices at scale.

We’re looking for an individual who has helped companies succeed at this level of scale.  You will partner with business , data science and product leadership to evolve our platform for the next five years.

Our team is intensely collaborative. We leverage a variety of technologies, including Python,  Hive, Spark, Kafka, and Airflow. We also use a variety of services in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for our end-end systems.
