Staff Network Engineer
The Network Services team at Wayfair focuses on providing core transport (wired and wireless) and security services to all of our customers both internal and external. The team has a focus on thinking outside the box to achieve optimal results in a expedited fashion to help deliver on business outcomes. What You'll Do
  • Participate in design discussions with other Technical Leads, Network Security and Employee Technology (ET) Leadership
  • Review, design and implement infrastructure changes to enhance reliability, increase capability and ensure maximum availability of network infrastructure
  • Monitor network stability by modifying network infrastructure in response to application changes and ensuring the network complies with service level and licensing agreements
  • Lead performance, security monitoring and documentation of relevant network segments to ensure data integrity
  • Install, configure and maintain network services, equipment and devices
  • Resolve complex technical issues by troubleshooting escalated network incidents, collaborating with IT key stakeholders, socializing best practices and providing recommendations for implementation strategy
  • Maintain operational strength of network services by contributing to capacity planning, resource management and performance enhancement activities
  • Mentor junior and senior level associates by sharing expertise, collaborating on complex questions and offering guidance to minimize administrative error
  • Assist in managing budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility

What You'll Need
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Extensive experience in network engineering with increasing levels of responsibility over your career
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetworking Engineer (CCIE) or equivalent proven experience
  • Expert level knowledge of multi-protocol data network, routing and routed protocols
  • Expert level knowledge of WAN, LAN and Wireless technologies
  • Advanced level knowledge of MS Azure, Palo Alto and Automation Languages (Python, Ansible, etc)
