About The Team:
The Storefront Find team empowers our customers to search, browse and find exactly what they’re looking for across our millions of products. We handle all of the search and browse user facing experience across Wayfair and Wayfair brands including AllModern, Perigold, and Joss & Main. We partner with myriad stakeholders across the organization to ensure a consistent, scalable and frictionless experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Set technical strategy for the core of Wayfair’s shopping experience
- Lead the Architecture and development of our highly scalable and customizable platform
- Be a voice of technology representing the work of multiple highly-productive engineering teams.
- Take ownership for decisions and drive results forward, working with and alongside engineering teams. Our history as a scrappy start-up can still be seen in our decentralized decision-making process that empowers all employees, and especially leaders, to act as “owners” of the business.
- Mentor and provide technical vision to a team of ~50 engineers and Storefront Engineering department of 500+ engineers.
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years of software development experience, with preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large-company experience
- Track record of mentoring engineering teams to innovate rapidly and scale with the business
- Architectural and system design expertise developing highly scalable and performant distributed systems.
- Collaborative working style that builds consensus and sells change through persuasive data, logic, and delivery of information.
- Hands-on coding with the ability to directly build key product features, functional prototypes, architectural elements, or anything else needed.
- Ability to make strategic trade-offs between technical and business needs; finds pragmatic solutions that balance technical purity with speed-to-value
- Expertise with GraphQL, React and Java preferred
