The Wayfair Execution Team is looking for Site Startup Managers with project management experience to own implementation and setup of projects and programs within Wayfair’s Global Fulfillment Center and Home Delivery Operation Network. These roles require defining scope of projects and creating project execution plans, developing processes, coordinating with key stakeholders, and communicating status, risks and process/project changes to senior management. Coordination with cross-functional teams, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, budget, supervise and lead the execution of all implementation and fiscal functions of the assigned program or project
  • Identify and mitigate project or program risks early to ensure schedules are maintained
  • Define the scope of all projects or programs by coordinating with stakeholders to set objectives, and deliver on time and within budget to meet the customers’ needs
  • Partner with Senior Regional Startup Managers to identify opportunities for process improvement and develop new procedures to ensure continuous improvement of the team and the business
  • Partner with teams across the business you support and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources
  • Partner with customers, and internal/external teams to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Understand gaps between teams within assigned projects, processes and systems and identify owners to ensure all aspects of the project or program are completed. 
  • Be a decision maker - understand when the appropriate times are to make the decisions and when to escalate challenges to senior leadership
  • Comfortable in different roles - sometimes supporting, sometimes leading
  • Act as the Wayfair representative with vendors and suppliers during project execution
  • Responsible for overall project schedule to enable teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and Launch dates
  • Responsible for managing overall project budget and approving all purchase orders
  • Monitors and reports on the progress of all project activity within the project including significant milestones and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule
  • Active participant in vendor and Wayfair safety policies
  • Regional travel up to 80%

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in complex project management, budgets and implementation with proven ability drive projects to successful implementation
  • Experience leading and coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in a distribution facility
  • Experience managing multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Operations Management/Fulfillment Center experience
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to lead internal/external stakeholders 
  • Proven excellence in written and oral communication skills
  • Experience handling changing priorities 
  • Demonstrated ability working in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to use good judgment when working in stressful situations
