Working Hours: 2pm - 10pm or 4pm - 12pm (must be flexible to cover both shifts if required)

Pay Rate: £13.54

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely and efficiently with delivery drivers by preparing trailers for dispatch, signing documentation and supporting drivers throughout the day. 
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure high levels of Customer Service are maintained in the Transport operation to provide best in class customer experiences at every opportunity.
  • Conduct necessary training within the department.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and safe operations of all warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Be responsible for answering email and verbal questions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all work flows consistently throughout the day; oversee the cleanliness of the department.
  • Enforce the compliance of all Health & Safety and environmental policies and procedures  by ensuring  warehouse employees carry out their duties in a safe, correct and efficient manner.
  • Work effectively with peers and managers; perform additional responsibilities as assigned. 
  • This is a floor position, and will involve physically moving/processing products in addition to leading the drivers.

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 1  years of  experience in the transport sector  (Parcels / Large Parcels preferred) as a Team Leader, Transport Clerk or similar level. 
  • Experienced in working within more than one department  is an advantage.
  • Ability to plan, manage and operationally direct and lead a team of colleagues to meet customer targets and colleague productivity targets.
  • An effective team player with strong communication and  interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Ability to  work under pressure and make decisions with little to no guidance based on policies or common sense.
  • Intermediate knowledge of  MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) or Google Suite (G-Mail, GoogleSheets,); ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Experience with performance reporting, creating and updating systems such as trouble tickets.
  • Basic analytical skills  to compile reports and necessary documentation as required; 
  • Working understanding of the WMS and other transport systems.
  • CPC preferred but not essential
