The profile of an Inventory Control Supervisor is that of managing and overseeing all the functions of the warehouse and ensuring smooth operations of all activities. This individual will also be managing warehouse workers.

 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the functions and working of the Inventory Control associates
  • Conducting thorough analysis of, monitoring, and reporting of cycle count information to detect any trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices for inventory handling in all warehouse departments through training and feedback.
  • Organizing and conducting necessary training activities for the staff and workers in effort to resolve inventory issues within the warehouse.
  • Be a professional, accurate, and available resource to all departments 
  • Managing the inventory. Work areas include: quarterly cycle counts, review and resolve unavailable inventory, ensuring inventory accuracy, training other departments on proper inventory handling. Reviewing and resolving inventory related issues within the warehouse and by request from Boston teams.
  • Supervising proper shift allocations and ensuring efficiency of all warehouse staff.
  • Adhering to the compliance of all legal and safety procedures.
  • Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Working understanding of WMS systems and/or Inventory Management systems.
  • Should have excellent leadership and administration skills and abilities.
  • Strong motivational skills and effectual team building and decision making.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, resolve crises, and effective decision making.
  • Ability to efficiently coordinate workings with internal and external partners of the company

Education and Qualifications:
 
Five years of supervisory experience in a distribution/fulfillment environment with Inventory Control preferred but not required.  A Bachelor’s/Associate degree in management, administration, supply chain may also leverage a lack of hands-on practical experience as stated here.
