Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

What You'll Do

  • Brief/debrief warehouse operatives at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensure all work flows consistently throughout the day.
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Conduct necessary training within the department.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and safe operations of all warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Be responsible for answering email and verbal questions in a timely manner.
  • Identify training requirements of associates to allow them to carry out their roles effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the department.
  • Enforce the compliance of all Health & Safety and environmental policies and procedures  by ensuring  warehouse employees carry out their duties in a safe, correct and efficient manner.
  • Work effectively with peers and managers.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. 
  • This is a floor position, and will involve physically moving/processing products in addition to leading a team of warehouse associates.

What You'll Need

  • Previous Team Lead, First Line Supervisory or Management experience (minimum 1 year ) within a fast-paced warehousing, distribution or inventory environment.
  • Experienced in working within more than one department  is an advantage.
  • Ability to plan, manage and operationally direct and lead a team of colleagues to meet customer targets and colleague productivity targets.
  • An effective team player with strong communication and  interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to  work under pressure and make decisions with little to no guidance based on policies or common sense.
  • Experience with composing and replying to emails.
  • Able to read and comprehend English to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you.
  • Experience with creating and updating systems such as trouble tickets.
  • Working understanding of the WMS system
  • Able to provide proof of identification and employment eligibility.

Due to growth in our European warehouses, Wayfair are looking for a Warehouse Team Lead to be based in our state of the art fulfilment centre located in Magna Park, Lutterworth. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Team and ensuring resources are effectively assigned. This is very much a hands-on position, and will involve physically moving/processing products in addition to leading the team.
