TRANSLATION INTERN (EN -> DE)
Welocalize is offering a 6-month internship for German translation students interested in gaining experience and developing their career as translators.
The purpose of our program is to develop the skills of young language professionals with a view to establishing long-term cooperation upon completion of the internship.
Interns will work closely with in-house mentors who will oversee their progress and offer guidance on specific projects. Successful candidates will participate in a broad range of translation-related activities, including but not limited to:
•Performing on-demand translation tasks (EN > DE) of different content types (UI, help marketing)
•Performing copy-edit tasks on assigned projects (EN > DE)
•Performing LSO tasks
•Assisting the language team with administrative tasks in relation to language projects
•Managing project-related queries
•Interacting with clients on linguistic matters as required
•Participating in calls with client reviewers
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
•B.A. in Translation/Applied Languages (final year) and final year Master student
•Fluent in German (native level), both written and spoken, fluent in English, both written and spoken
•Ability to commit to a placement for a minimum period of 6 months
•Eager to learn about the localization process and work as part of a translation team
•Passion for language, accuracy, style and readability
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office
•Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
•Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
