MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB 
 
We are looking for an English into Norwegian(Bokmål) Translation team to join our growing team for one of our global and multinational technology clients. They will take ownership of the incoming work on this account and will actively contribute to the success of the program. 

MAIN DUTIES

  • Translate content from English into Norwegian(Bokmål) with original meaning conveyed in a manner that is readable and understandable to target audience.  
  • Content types: Informative Content, Marketing/Social media, Online Help, Technical documentation/instruction, Technical Specifications, User Interface Text, User Generated Content
  • CAT Tool: working with Polyglot
  • Expected Capacity per week: between 1000 to 2000 words, the volumes will depend on the client requirements
  • Act as intermediary between the client and Welocalize linguists.
  • Responsible for maintaining overall quality under the 5% fail rate.
  • Carry out daily follow up of all LQE results, passed and failed.
  • Gather all LQE changes and share with all linguists in the account.
  • Analyse deliverables by linguists, determine where the issues are and determine and implement actions for improvement.
  • Support teams in the review process as/where needed in order to maintain the fail rate below 5%.
  • Support linguists in understanding corrections, clarify with the client where needed.
  • Support linguists in the arbitration process.
  • Support linguists in any questions they might have during production and escalate to client/Welocalize as needed.
  • Identify products, contents that might be a challenge as well as linguists that might be underperforming and make recommendations to reallocate products, contents, etc.
  • If workload issues are identified, highlight them and provide solutions to be discussed with Welocalize Language Services team.
  • Collect root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action plans as needed and put improvement plans together accordingly.
  • Put training materials together and conduct training sessions with linguists.
  • Organize regular calls with reviewers/LS to discuss corrections, requirements, clarify any misunderstandings/unclear corrections or requirements, etc. Document these calls and follow up with linguists to make sure everybody is aligned.
  • Support Welocalize in the identification and evaluation of potential new candidates.

  • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience translating and reviewing content in the specified subject matter.   
  • Proficient in all areas of expertise: Informative Content, Marketing/Social media, Online Help, Technical documentation/instruction, Technical Specifications, User Interface Text, User Generated Content
  • Well-versed in various translation & terminology tools.
  • Excellent communications skills in English (spoken and written). 
  • Native fluency in target language.  
  • Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience. 
  • Able to follow instructions, eg. character restrictions, etc. 
  • Able to communicate effectively the rationale behind their translation skills. 
  • Able to both translate and review. 
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario a plus.
