MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB 
 
We are looking for English into Korean Language Lead to join our growing team for one of our global IT clients. You will take ownership of the incoming work on this account and will actively contribute to the success of the program. 

MAIN DUTIES

  • Language Quality Program
  • Perform LQAs on sample projects upon request from account team at Welocalize.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, which include analyzing proofreader scorecards and LQA results, responding to translators’ queries, meeting with translation team(s) for training and escalation follow-up purposes. Meetings are required at least bi-monthly.
  • Provide with input on the overall linguistic quality program for the specific language.
  • Together with the Quality team at Welocalize, supervise, coach and mentor the translation team(s) assigned to the account.
  • ·Support LQM in designing corrective actions in case of client escalations.
  • Identify training needs for translation teams and create and maintain training program, including an on-boarding program for new teams (when applicable.)

  • Quality at Source
  • Review and evaluate test translation of potential candidates.
  • Own evaluation and management of existing linguistic assets (i.e. glossaries and style guides), query management, and related.
  • Align with SME (Subject Matter Experts) requirements based on source complexity and content type, when necessary.

  • Analytics and Reporting
  • Manage data on quality and vendor performance, produce statistical quality reports and create related documentation plus RCA where needed (both for internal and external use.)
  • Provide with input to LQM and TPM if resources do not perform, remediation efforts have failed, and a replacement team is needed.

  • Client engagement
  • Engage with SMEs to define and agree on quality expectations and drive arbitration processes and present in client meetings and calls.
  • Author/provide with input on client facing documentation.
  • Participate to trainings/webinars hosted by client.
  • Take the lead on linguistic issues at client/project meetings.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • University degree in Linguistics, Translation or related field
  • Experience in Language Lead role (> 3 year)
  • Four or more years of experience in localization, terminology management, quality control, and TM tools
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken, in a wide range of registers)
  • Knowledge of main CAT tools, specifically XTM (MemoQ is a plus)
  • Knowledge of X-bench and/or other Language QA tools
  • Excellent understanding of Translation Memory tools and Translation Management Systems (TMS). A good understanding of Machine Translation (MT) engines and MT Post-editing, (processes, tools, schedule and budget impact)
