MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 
The Language Project Management Team Lead is responsible for successfully managing multiple translation projects for key accounts (around 70% of the total amount of time). The Language Project Management Team Lead will lead a team of Language Project Managers (around 30 % OF TIME will be allocate for people management tasks), working with internal client teams and hiring the team of internal translators and / or external resources to meet translation requests, providing delivery excellence based on the four pillars of Welocalize namely: customer service, innovation, global teamwork, quality. 

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership of Language Project Manager Team lead:
· Supervision and leadership of a local team of languages project managers serving various internal clients and managing related administrative tasks
· Performance Management of team members including probation period reviews, regular 1:1 meetings, annual performance reviews; escalation point for issues with team members and managing any disciplinary procedures
· Communicating company objectives, priorities, guidelines, updates; advocating company policy and decisions
· Inducting, Training, Coaching, Mentoring, and Motivating LPM team members
· Identifying development needs and lead career development opportunities for PMs
· Interviewing candidates for open PM positions
· Balancing workload, ensuring high utilisation; delegating workload during periods of leave for team members
· Ensuring Site Leadership and internal clients are kept regularly updated; timely escalation of any developing or critical issues with the team or with client projects
· Language Project Management: Management of multiple translation projects for key accounts
· Plan work allocation with appropriate resources: translation, editing and proof-reading
· Obtain all relevant project specifications from internal clients and convey all related project requirements to production teams
· Ensure highest quality level of deliveries through risk assessment and by active management of the translation workflow
· Ensure project delivery in the given parameters
· Monitor the project budget and spend
· Provide accurate and timely communications to both internal and external clients
· Monitor the performance of production resources on specific projects, as well as client satisfaction and manage related feedback
- Continuous improvement of processes and development of new process as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education Level
  •  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a college or university in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience
  • Experience in translation, project management or customer services preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced, client-centric environment
  • around 1-2 years of people management experience
  • People management experience & ability to lead diverse teams a strong advantage
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Additional foreign language an advantage (Particularly French, German or Spanish)
  • Strong computer literacy, MS Office, e-mail, internet
  • Knowledge of the localization industry desired but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with terminology glossaries, Trados, or any other translation memory or translation management tools
  • Proven ability to learn new processes and tools
