The 10x Genomics Legal Department is seeking an experienced and high-performing contracts manager to play a primary role in the company’s commercial efforts. Reporting to the Associate Director on the Legal Contracts Team, this professional will engage, partner and forge close working relationships with multiple functional groups within the company, with a focus on supporting the day-to-day transactional needs of 10x. This role is based in Pleasanton, CA, but we are open to considering remote candidates as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, negotiate and revise commercial contracts, including NDAs, software agreements, services agreements, statements of work, consulting agreements, speaker and recruiting agreements etc.
- Independently manage contract workflows for certain categories of contracts.
- Negotiate with sophisticated counterparties, such as universities, research institutions, pharma, and biotechnology companies.
- Analyze and interpret complex contractual provisions to guide internal stakeholders and engage appropriate support and escalation to management/ legal counsel as necessary.
- Ensure compliance and consistency in contract terms and company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with other members of the Legal Department in relation to ongoing efforts to simplify and streamline the contracting process using technology, templates and playbooks.
- Provide high level of customer satisfaction both internally and externally.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of directly applicable experience in a similar role reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements.
- Strong understanding of contracts and contractual terms.
- Ability to successfully accomplish work with high level of independence and provide pragmatic solutions to address legal and business risks.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with and support colleagues and clients.
- Enthusiastic, proactive and creative problem-solver, comfortable juggling multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest in life sciences or related field.
Below is the base pay range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
