About the role:

10x Genomics is seeking a dynamic individual to lead our In-situ instrument manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day production processes, managing a team of production technicians, and ensuring seamless collaboration across functional teams. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, operational acumen, and strong leadership skills.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of production technicians.
  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing processes, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
  • Conduct periodic one-on-one meetings to improve employee engagement and foster two-way feedback.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of production processes.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Support the development of new products and facilitate the technology transfer from R&D to New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining production.
  • Act as a domain expert in manufacturing operations processes, including manufacturing management and control, ERP/MRP, and inventory control.
  • Review and sign off Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and implement actions to support change control in manufacturing.
  • Review and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Material Review Board (MRB) material generated in production.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Track and report production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the leadership team.
  • Participate in continuous process improvements and efficiency initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Prepare and implement department SOPs, ensuring that current procedures are up to date.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering; master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant industrial experience, preferably in the production of complex electromechanical instruments.
  • Experience with biotech instruments, industrial equipment, or semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to implement process improvement and quality control measures in a regulated industry, such as ISO 9001/13485 standards.
  • Previous experience in team building, production, and resource planning.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, organization, and communication skills. Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, and managing cost centers.
  • Certification in production and inventory management (APICS) or Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

Below is the base pay range for this full time position.  The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.  At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package.  This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.  Your 10x recruiter can share more about the Company’s total compensation package during the hiring process.
