Responsibilities
Here is our breakdown of expectations based on years of experience:Entry-Level Security Operations Engineer
Assist in monitoring security tools and systems (e.g., endpoint protection, cloud configurations). Support initial triage of alerts and documentation of incidents. Learn and contribute to internal runbooks and best practices. Participate in security awareness initiatives and training sessions. Shadow and learn from incident response and vulnerability management processes.Mid-Level Security Operations Engineer
Configure and support tools like SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners. Assist in automation of operational tasks through APIs and scripting. Monitor and escalate potential security events or anomalies. Partner with IT and cloud teams to enforce access and identity policies. Contribute to documentation and delivery of security training across regions.Senior Security Operations Engineer
Lead implementation and tuning of enterprise security tools across cloud and IT environments. Own integration and automation of services to enforce security policies globally. Drive improvements to our vulnerability management program and incident response readiness. Deliver regional and global training on phishing, social engineering, and awareness topics. Partner with compliance, IT, and legal stakeholders to align on controls and risk.Lead Security Operations Engineer
Serve as subject matter expert on cloud security: identity, access, policy, and network controls. Architect and scale security tools (endpoint, SIEM, vulnerability, monitoring) across Aera’s global footprint. Design, build, and lead automated systems that enforce security policy across all teams. Own the development and delivery of global security education and awareness programs. Build and maintain robust incident response processes, including IR playbooks and simulations. Report on risk, effectiveness, and trends across IR, vulnerability management, and compliance domains.About You
