About us:
Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.
Role Overview:
Aeva is seeking to hire a talented and motivated Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join our EE Hardware Development Team. The EE HW team owns the design, build and bring-up of Aeva’s mixed-signal PCBs. As a V&V Hardware Engineer, you will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks in PCBA or sub-circuit bringup, characterization, verification, and validation.
What you’ll be doing:
Work closely with EE design engineers and other engineering teams to examine the individual PCBs, their function, and interconnectionsSimulation & hands-on characterization of a circuit, sub-circuit, PCBA, or system and articulating feedback in formal or informal design reviews.Partner with design leads to perform a variety of design verification & validation tasksMay engage with CM’s or internal Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth roll-out in an NPI functionSupport EE team in backend design support including RMA, FA, and Customer interfacingWhat you have:
BS or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field1-4 years experience in the Electrical Hardware / product space with robust, hands-on lab experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood understanding of HW components, their interfaces and SW controlsGood understanding of debug and probing techniques for a variety communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCIE etc)Understanding of PCB design fundamentals & technical tradeoffsBe an active team member working closely with other EE design engineers and other groupsAbility to analyze a design, component data sheet, user guide, or schematic to make insightful decisions Prior experience with Python / MATLAB for test automation and data visualizationExperience in motor control and/or RF/analog design is a plusA big plus if you have experience in the automotive or Lidar industry
