THE TEAM
The Admissions & Financial Aid team at ALCHE plays a critical role in advancing ALU’s mission of developing ethical and entrepreneurial leaders for Africa by identifying and supporting high-potential students, particularly those from underserved backgrounds. We are a collaborative, purpose-driven team that works closely with Marketing, Tech, Student Life, Academics, and Operations to ensure a seamless student journey from application through enrollment.
THE ROLE
This role supports our mission by ensuring equitable access to financial aid for high-potential students at ALCHE. As part of the Admissions & Financial Aid team, you will help to uphold data integrity, fairness, and transparency in the scholarship process.
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Oversee the financial aid application, review and selection process for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ALCHE.
- Manage routine communications with scholars, address student issues and enforce guidelines for overall financial aid policy.
- Work closely with various teams (marketing, tech student life, operations, academic) to manage financial aid systems and processes.
- Identify gaps and improvements in the financial aid application and selection process and build scalable solutions
- Ensure accurate communication and information on financial aid at ALCHE, both internally and externally, to key stakeholders
- Support with data reporting to key stakeholders and partners
- Such other duties in respect of the Company as may be reasonably assigned by your team manager.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal, by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Education, Business, Data Management, or related)
- 2+ years of experience in financial aid, admissions, or student support services
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in data systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
- Experience working with scholarship or financial aid programs is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program or other similar initiatives is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
