ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Associate for Health Entrepreneurship will support ALU’s efforts to foster entrepreneurial ventures in healthcare by providing program coordination, venture development support, and strategic partnership facilitation. The ideal candidate will have experience in entrepreneurship, healthcare innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordination & Support:
- Support the planning and execution of entrepreneurship training and venture development programs for health ventures across ALU and partner institutions.
- Coordinate entrepreneurship coaching sessions, funding access, and networking opportunities for students and alumni.
- Facilitate the one-year post-graduation fellowship for students with viable entrepreneurial ventures.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with policymakers and regulators to provide students and entrepreneurs with a comprehensive understanding of the health sector & regulatory landscape.
- Build partnerships with incubators, accelerators, and funding organizations to support healthcare start-ups.
- Develop and maintain a platform for students and alumni to showcase their ventures, exchange ideas, and learn from peers.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Monitor program progress, collect success stories, and analyze the impact of entrepreneurship programs.
- Prepare detailed reports on venture development outcomes and lessons learned for stakeholders and funders.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal, by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, or a related field with a focus on entrepreneurship.
- 3+ years of experience in program coordination, preferably in entrepreneurship or healthcare innovation.
- Experience with health venture incubation and business development support.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of funding mechanisms and health business models.
