As a Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will own Agoda’s digital accessibility posture. In this role,  you will define policies and guidelines to incorporate accessibility and inclusivity into Agoda products.

You’ll showcase your expertise in finding innovative accessibility solutions and be an advocate for inclusivity and accessibility. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of web accessibility guidelines and standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). You will use this knowledge to review our products for accessibility, incorporate accessibility best practices into our design and development processes and to provide guidance and recommendations to our teams on how to make our products more accessible.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also need to have strong communication skills, as you own accessibility and  will be working with teams across the organization to promote the importance of accessibility and to ensure that it is integrated into our processes and methodologies. You will also need to be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and to advocate for accessibility with senior leadership.

Day to day, it looks like:

  • Partner with Design, Engineering, Product and other leaders to define and incorporate policies to achieve digital Accessibility at scale.
  • Enhance Agoda products to comply with accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Effectively communicate accessibility findings, priorities, and design rationale in written form as well as verbally and visually to gain alignment and move the work forward.
  • Perform accessibility audits and report on audit findings
  • Develop creative and innovative accessibility solutions that adhere to organization and WCAG guidelines
  • Test to ensure accessibility solutions are effective and successful
  • Collaborate with partners across the company to identify opportunities to enhance the creation of Accessible experiences
  • Actively advocate accessibility across the organization
  • Train and mentor peers on accessibility best practices

 

Accessibility Specialist at Agoda means you have a track record of:

  • 4+ years of proven experience driving accessibility in digital, customer-facing products.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field (ie: Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Software Engineering, Product Design, Product Management, etc)
  • Understanding of processes in the product development lifecycle, including testing, documenting, and prioritizing defects
  • Expert knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG and ADA
  • Expert-level experience in accessibility on a minimum of one platform, and familiarity with a broad range:
    • Web accessibility on browser
    • Mobile accessibility on Android and iOS
    • PDF accessibility and digital document standards
    • Video and other digital media
  • Broad knowledge of digital assistive technologies on desktop and mobile platforms
  • Familiarity with tools for automated and guided accessibility testing
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Jira
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills- Able to articulate and explain your ideas to other designers, engineers, product managers and other stakeholders 
  • A strong growth mindset and team-player attitude
  • Facilitation and partnership skills: you can demonstrate the ability to orchestrate alignment across multiple teams.
