As the Strategy Lead in Airbnb's Payments Team, you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of our payment systems. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that will shape the way we handle payments and enhance the overall customer experience.

The Difference You Will Make

Your primary focus will be to help shape the go forward strategy for the payments platform, as a critical enabler of the business. This individual must be able understand global trends in critical markets, identify growth opportunities based on customer needs. They will provide insights and recommendations to support decision making at all levels of the organization. 

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will collaborate on the design and execution of innovative payment solutions that align with Airbnb's business objectives. Your ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for improvement will be crucial in driving business success and ensuring that Airbnb remains at the forefront of the industry.

This role will require strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for working closely with many cross functional stakeholders to drive strategic priorities. Your ability to inspire and motivate others will be essential in fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

A Typical Day

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives for the Payments Team, ensuring alignment with Airbnb's overall business goals and execution of the future state strategy.
  • Ability to evaluate comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats in the payment industry.
  • Provide insightful and actionable recommendations to support key decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure the successful execution of strategies and initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, adapting them as necessary to meet evolving business needs and market conditions.
  • Facilitate regular reporting and communication with the Head of Payments Strategy and Business Operations, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Your Expertise

  • A strategic thinker with a passion for innovation in payments.
  • Proficient in market and customer research, data analysis, and strategy formulation.
  • An effective communicator capable of presenting complex data in an understandable manner.
  • A team player who thrives in collaborative environments and is skilled at cross-functional coordination.
  • Someone who is results-driven and committed to excellence in their work.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, or a related field within the payments industry, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies used for data analysis and project management.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities for business improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on results.
  • Knowledge of the payments industry landscape, including emerging trends and technologies.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in payment systems.
  • Commitment to excellence in work and a passion for driving business success through strategic initiatives.
Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb Payments, Inc. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

$164,000$205,000 USD
