Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Join Atlassian as an intern and spend your summer with us having a direct impact on how millions of users collaborate and use software. The most amazing thinkers like NASA rocket scientists and Tesla engineers are coming to us for solutions. We're in the business of developing software to help teams everywhere get amazing ideas o the ground and into the world.

Sound like an exciting place to start your career? Here you'll be encouraged to use your imagination and try new things. You'll be guided (as we are) by our core values, and will supported by some of the best minds in tech. We want you to have everything you need to do amazing work from the get-go.

This program is open to penultimate year students with Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency. The internship dates are late November 2020 to late February 2021, full-time. Apply for our intern program and start an awesome career!

On your first day, we'll expect the following;

  • Commitment to a 12 week full-time (40hrs / week) internship from late November 2020 until late February 2021 (We may be able to flex on this slightly if your course timetable does not allow for a 12 week placement during this timeframe).
  • Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program and graduating by January 2022.
  • A solid understanding of Javascipt
  • Basic skills in HTML/CSS
  • It would be nice to have:

  • UI design experience
  • Experience with Figma
  • More about the team

    The pace of innovation and change in the workplace is faster than ever before - join one of the most agile teams among them all: the prototypers! As a prototyping/design tools intern you'll touch on three different aspects of product creation: code, design, and building design tools. Prototypers help shape the early ideas of products by building new and risky approaches in code, iterating on existing designs, and most importantly building tooling that enables designers to move faster than ever before. If you're a jack-of-all-trades type, or if you're looking to widen your base of skills, prototyping is for you!

    You'll work on a small, autonomous team within Atlassian learning how to transform a design from a flat image into something that seems real enough to test in the lab, but also how to create applications from the ground up that enable dynamic design and research. We build all of our prototypes and tools in html, javascript, and css, so a strong foundation in those is helpful. A eye for design is equally beneficial, as often times we'll be working hand in hand with designers on a regular basis, and also modifying and designing UIs ourselves.
