Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

The Enterprise Cloud team in Atlassian is transforming how big companies purchase, deploy and use the Atlassian product line. This team delivers new products and services designed to serve the needs of large companies using Atlassian products and services every day. These products are focused on high-availability, security and management of Enterprise customers. At Atlassian, we pride ourselves on our unique self-serve model that defies traditional sales-driven Enterprise software strategies. We pioneer new, creative approaches to building software for the Enterprise. Your work will impact millions of users and thousands of partners for decades to come, while bringing fun, excitement and the speed of consumer software to the Enterprise.

The primary focus of your role will be to set the direction of the engineering team to deliver against the goals of the Enterprise organisation. You will help grow and scale the engineering organisation and will own the end to end development including ensuring commitments stay on track and roadblocks are removed to facilitate fast execution and timely decision-making. In addition, you will lead managers and ensure their growth and success. Along with your product and design counterparts you will be responsible for setting the long term direction for the organisation, you will set a technology strategy which anticipates industry and customer direction that can advance Atlassian’s long term growth and competitiveness.

We would love for you to have a track record of success running highly effective development teams, able to manage both managers and engineers, along with an extensive background in enterprise software. This role will also benefit from a deep understanding of industry best practices and driving change in the organisation. Traits that will serve you well in this role include being passionate about the customer experience, having the ability to ask the tough questions, and being a natural at working cross-functionally. Your communication skills in writing and public speaking are stellar (and debating ideas with developers and non-tech people is a given).

More about you:

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering management following Agile development processes and a history of shipping both consumer products and cloud services
  • Experience as an engineering leader owning P&L responsibilities
