Do you want to lead product marketing for one of the defining brands of the software era? Jira Software is looking for a Head of Product Marketing to lead the Jira Software Cloud Product Marketing team.

The Head of Product Marketing is a senior marketing leader responsible for crafting and driving a go-to-market (GTM) strategy and plan that encompasses Jira Software, Roadmaps and Automation.

Our SF based marketing team is on a mission to make Jira Cloud a billion-dollar business. We work closely with our Sydney based product teams and SF based Performance Marketing, Customer Lifecycle, Brand, Design, Analytics and SEO teams. 

In this role, you will get to:

  • Define, build and run Jira’s go-to-market strategy with compelling, differentiated messaging, strategy and execution.
  • You are a dual-mode marketer with an eye for both self-serve and high touch motions.
  • You have a deep understanding of the buyer journey of modern SaaS business but you can also position, differentiate and sell.
  • You bring a mix of the head and heart, combining data and intuition to set strategy and make good decisions. 
  • Main Responsibilities:

  • Employees: Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop the product marketing team ensuring they are successful in their roles AND careers.
  • Customers: Represent the voice of the customer and the market to make sure Atlassian's offerings meet a compelling need in the right way.
  • Shareholders: Responsible for the commercial success of Jira Software Cloud in the short and long term.
  • Be the expert and spokesperson for Jira across AR and PR channels.
  • Create broad go-to-market campaigns and themes that grow the full funnel across any channel.
  • Be a trusted partner to the product team and growth teams and relay customer, sales and market insights that inform product roadmap decisions and strategy.
  • Guide all direct marketing demand-generation tactics, including advertising, search marketing, content marketing, PR, and field/events marketing.
  • Guide design and online strategies, helping deliver outstanding performance and constantly improving conversion.
  • Run the marketing budget associated with all product marketing activities and direct the spend to associated teams to execute plans you create and shape
  • Lead messaging, strategy, marketing communications, public relations and social media strategies.
  • Contribute significantly to the company strategy, leadership and culture.
  • Build and execute GTM & Launch plans.
  • Develop messaging, positioning, buyer personas, product presentations and key content for major product launches.
  • Develop and lead overall global marketing plans for Jira, and guide the teams associated with executing them. 
  • One your first day, we will expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years of related experience in building product marketing, demand generation and demand conversion teams that consistently deliver standout results. Agile and DevOps SME is a plus.
  • Experience marketing to developers and growing demand in the dev tools/agile marketplace.
  • Excellent writing, verbal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly develop credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead distributed teams across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to make operational management decisions and clear recommendations in response to changing objectives.
  • Ability to understand Atlassian strategies, markets, and products, and apply those to marketing efforts
  • Strategic leader that combines execution with vision, left brain with right.
  • You care about every function in marketing but you love product marketing.
