Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Looking to be part of a team that is transforming the way in which customers buy cloud products? Look no further!
Atlassian’s business is growing at ~40% with customers who range from Fortune 500 companies to Fortune 500,000. And this where our Commerce platform comes into play.

The Commerce team is currently building a flexible platform that allows Atlassian to easily launch new monetisation models, integrate new products and services, and of course, provide a simple, frictionless experience for our partners and customers.

So, what does this mean for you?
Well, we need you to help us provide our customers with this simple and frictionless experience.

As a lead designer, you will be involved in early-stage research, ideation, implementation, and iteration to help improve the customer’s buying experience from discovery to post-purchase. Strong partnerships with engineering, product management, and design will help you deliver across the entire design process.

And what does it mean for your career and your growth prospects?
Atlassian, as a company, is growing and India is its fastest-growing site. This growth means that we are doubling in strength and opening up opportunities for people both locally and globally. If you are a high-performing individual, this role will help you grow in the individual leader and the people leader space.

We have a great track record of employees who started out as individual contributors and are now at leadership positions. Take Jurgen Spangl, for instance. In 8 years he went from designer to Atlassian’s CXO. There’s also Alastair Simpson—he went from lead designer to currently being Head of Design.
If you choose to work with us, this could be you!

What does a day in the life of a Lead Designer look like?

In addition to growth opportunities, you will also enjoy ownership of your work, get to work on user-centered design (including research), and take part in design sparring sessions with designers from across geographies.

Here’s what else you will be doing through the course of the day (mostly):
- You’ll start your day with a scrumptious breakfast with hot/cold beverages while you think about simple yet powerful solutions to customer problems. Basically, stepping into the customer’s shoes is your specialty.
- Through the day, you will collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders—all of whom (just like you) are friendly, flexible, and work with an attitude to always strive for the best outcomes. Oh, and don’t forget to treat yourself with a rather luxurious lunch buffet.
- At the end of the day, you will go home satisfied that you have done your best to provide our customers with a seamless discovery, purchase, and post-purchase experience.
- You wake up excited and invigorated because you get to challenge yourself on a daily basis.

Additionally, you will also have time to relax, recharge, and explore other things you love (apart from your work).
