Atlassian is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our new Search and Smarts team. As a Search Engineer at Atlassian, you will advance our mission to unleash the potential in every team by building a search platform for all our products.

Your work will impact millions of users including some of the leaders in their industries, now and for the next decade, as you define the foundations for how people and content are found to connect, collaborate, and accomplish amazing things.

This team is at their early stage, and your impact will be instrumental in determining the direction of the team. We're looking for someone who is familiar with the modern technology stacks, and have the hunger for keeping up to speed with all new technologies to come. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment by implementing cutting edge techniques to solve tough, yet unique problems.

Your daily responsibilities, you will be expected to:

-Pioneer the development of a new search platform for all Atlassian products.

-Be responsible for the search technology stack from top to bottom.

-Architecture and technical vision to keep it moving forward.

-Optimize all aspects of platform search, from indexing data from myriad sources to organizing and rationalizing results to provide ultimate clarity.

-As part of this team, contribute to ongoing feature development, specializing in search functionality and be the domain expert on search and related data storage, and retrieval technologies.

-Work effectively in a professional development environment including use of source control, unit testing, continuous build and integration

-Deployment via DevOps-style collaboration with infrastructure team.

The Search and Smarts team focuses on making the Atlassian suite of products more straightforward and delightful to use, and we are growing fast.
