Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We’re searching for an Associate Manager, Command Center based in Coppell, Texas. This person will lead a multidisciplinary team of operators who will play a crucial role in monitoring and guiding the autonomy performance of vehicles on the road. This position will play a critical role in developing Aurora’s capabilities and scaling our commercial operations. The role will focus on ensuring effective cross functional communication with developers, dispatch operations and vehicle operations. They will develop and improve operating procedures, drive continuous improvement, and develop an effective team with strong morale.

In this role, you will
- Lead a team of Remote Assistant Specialist with varying backgrounds, across multiple locations
- Lead by example and successfully collaborate cross functionally, with a “Win Together” mindset
- Develop and drive your team by building on individual strengths and opportunities, to ensure continuous growth and efficiency, for scaled operations
- Manage your team’s productivity and efficiency, striving for continuous improvement
- Understand all major Aurora initiatives and programs, and communicate them effectively to ensure alignment at every level
- Act as POC for key Aurora initiatives as they pertain to the Remote Operations team
- Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
Required Qualifications
- Safety focused
- Ability to make command decisions, lead by example, and motivate teams.
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Valid US driver’s license and clean driving history, validated by an MVR check
- Comfortable with travel up to 30% of your time
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of people management focusing on growth and development
- Experience with an autonomous fleet and/or experience in transportation operations
- Ability to prioritize testing deliverables and assignments from just high-level detail, to maximize team utilization
- Ability to lead through ambiguity to set clear objectives for your team
- Experience making schedules, managing vacation requests, participating in quarterly planning, and goal setting for self and others
- Experience working and managing rotating shifts, possibly early morning, late evening, and some weekends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust for audience
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn new software applications and processes
- Ability to operate independently with little or no supervision
- Strong organizational skills
- Conflict management and resolution experience
The base salary range for this position is $98,000 -$150,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
