Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We are seeking a skilled Atlassian Administrator to manage and optimize our Atlassian tools. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and improving Jira and related Atlassian tools to support project management, workflows, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience with automation and integrations, and the ability to troubleshoot and enhance Jira functionality.
In this role, you will
- Configure, maintain, and support Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and related plugins. Design and implement custom workflows, issue types, screens, and fields to align with business needs. Manage user roles, permissions, and group access from related tools and throughout Jira. Create and manage Jira dashboards, filters, and reports to support data-driven decision-making. Monitor Atlassian tool system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply updates or patches as needed.
- Configure, maintain, and support Confluence. Design and implement user driven space build out.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation rules and ScriptRunner scripts.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Jira, Confluence, Slack, Opsgenie, Firehydrant, CI/CD pipelines, and numerous custom services.
- Use existing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to perform updates, improvements, and data movements to lower environments.
- Ensure adherence to security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical support to users and teams to improve Jira adoption, efficiency, and alignment with best practices.
Required Qualifications
- BS in computer science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Jira administration, Jira Query Language (JQL), Structure, and Roadmaps for Jira.
- Strong knowledge and experience working Automation for Jira (A4J) and ScriptRunner (Groovy scripting).
- Familiarity with Jira REST and JAVA APIs.
- Understanding of database queries (e.g., MySQL) for Jira Data Center or Server environments.
- Familiarity with Jira Cloud, Data Center, AWS, Terraform, GCP and Server environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve Jira-related issues efficiently.
- Ability to work closely with hardware (R&D/Manufacturing), software (data science/development), DevOps (IT/infrastructure/etc), and business teams to translate requirements into Jira configurations.
- Atlassian Certifications (e.g., Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator).
- Ability to be on call and flexibility to support east coast time zone.
Desirable Qualifications
- Time as an Atlassian Partner (e.g. Platinum or Gold).
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie, Atlassian Admin, and other Atlassian tools.
- Experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Github, Spacelift, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and SAFe frameworks.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and ITIL frameworks.
- Familiarity coding in Python and/or Go.
The base salary range for this position is $104-$167K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
