Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We’re searching for a Hardware Lab Engineering Technician.
Responsibilities
- Rework small-footprint electronic components under a microscope and operate a BGA rework station for large BGA ICs.
- Assemble, wire, crimp, and solder electrical panels, circuit boards, and test setups.
- Inspect, diagnose PCBAs.
- Collaborate with hardware and embedded software design teams on validation test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Plan, evaluate, and procure test equipment for lab validation. Maintain lab test equipment, manage inventory, and assist with calibration.
- Read and interpret harness drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Investigate failure root causes and contribute to product improvements.
- Support the hardware design team with test setup, board bring-up, experiments, evaluations, and measurements.
- Set up test racks and networking infrastructure on Linux-based operating systems.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a closely related discipline.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in testing, measurement, and analysis of electrical systems.
- IPC-A-610 certification is required, demonstrating proficiency in electronics assembly acceptance standards.
- Proficient in using a variety of lab test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, VNAs, TDRs, and spectrum analyzers.
- Solid understanding of core electrical engineering principles.
- Experience operating within a Linux environment.
- Capability to configure test stations, including network setups.
- Familiarity with EE design tools (i.e. Cadence, Altium)
The base salary range for this position is $104,000-$167,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
