Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all.We are searching for a Staff Logistics Engineer to join the Operations Strategy team, who would be based in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will lead the planning and analysis of our logistics network, resource allocation, and load scheduling strategies to optimize efficiency and profitability. You’ll serve as a key thought partner to cross-functional stakeholders, helping translate operational challenges into scalable, data-informed solutions.This role requires strong analytical skills combined with business acumen.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Business Development, & Dispatch stakeholders to develop plans and drive day-to-day optimization of our network of resources (people, trucks, terminals) against demand (commercial and development) 
  • Leverage Lean Six Sigma principles and data analysis to identify and recommend opportunities to reduce waste and drive efficiency
  • Define business needs and partner with Product and Engineering to develop requirements for fleet allocation, load management, and network optimization tools.
  • Apply logistics engineering principles to support the design and continuous improvement of terminal layouts, routing logic, and resource flow.
  • Create weekly resource allocation schedules based on inputs & outputs of fleet allocation, load management, and network optimization tools 
  • Build forecasting models and apply industrial engineering methods (e.g., layout optimization, time studies) to improve terminal throughput and fleet efficiency.
  • Partner with Finance and Strategy teams to evaluate cost trade-offs and support revenue growth planning.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs and constraints of our logistics partners to enhance service delivery and cost-effectiveness
  • Utilize data analytics to track performance metrics, monitor performance against targets, and identify areas of inefficiencies
  • Develop and synthesize data-driven reports and executive-ready insights on current and projected resource utilization and alignment to revenue growth plans while proactively identifying & mitigating potential constraints

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS in a quantitative field or engineering field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Economics, Math, Statistics, Finance)
  • 5+ years in logistics, supply chain, or operations strategy, with a focus on data analysis and network optimization.
  • Strong background in utilizing logistics management software and conducting data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail and strong business acumen
  • Proficient/advanced modeling skills in Excel/Gsheets
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving business priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment and not afraid to roll up sleeves
  • Ownership mentality to drive issues and tasks to completion, with a strong bias for action
  • Interest in autonomous vehicles

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a high-growth tech or startup environment
  • Experience in SQL
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Familiarity with Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools
  • Experience collaborating with software or product teams to develop tooling

 

The base salary range for this position is $112,000 to $180,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
