We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated regulatory lawyer to join our legal team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across various business functions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and managing legal risks. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as legal point of contact (POC) for the company’s business in the UKProviding day to day support and advice to the Europe and UK management team in relation to engagement with UK regulators, and the company’s preparations for authorisation in the UKLeading the company’s response to ongoing investigations and enquiries in the UKLeading on the management and handling of material requests from law enforcement agencies in the UK and Europe, as well as working closely with the Global Sanctions Lead Counsel on matters relating to sanctions, ABC and AML/CTF risk in the UK and EUAdditional Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies to support business objectivesCultivate relationships not only with regulators and exchanges but also with legal personnel and other critical stakeholders across the business, adeptly developing networks and promoting Binance's interestsAdvise on an extensive range of regulatory and legal issues that could affect existing and potential servicesInterpret and anticipate regulations and legal requirements that could impact our business, steering management on necessary adjustmentsHelp coordinate regulatory audit processes, examinations and litigation proceduresEnsure Binance is always ready for regulatory assessments and legal confrontationsAssist with the development and implementation of UK-focused legal and regulatory policy and guidance aligning with Binance's strategic objectivesWork in tandem with various business teams, supporting the introduction and expansion of new products and services and bridging the regulatory and commercial realms, all while ensuring legal soundness throughoutMonitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments affecting the company’s operationsCollaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulationsCoordinate with external counsel as necessary to protect the company’s interestsIdentify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and new projectsDevelop and implement policies and procedures to minimize legal exposureRequirements:
England & Wales qualified with a current practising certificateMinimum 8 years PQE in a legal role focused on financial services regulation and technology, ideally gained from a reputable global law firmStrong knowledge of UK financial services rules and guidance, particularly in relation to digital assets, payments, e-money, cyber and operational resilience, and financial crimeComprehensive knowledge of retail and wholesale financial products as well as payments systemsPossess a robust understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape across the UKProven track record of effectively managing legal and regulatory compliance issues, and experience liaising with regulatory bodies in the UKActive interest in the cryptocurrency industry and its evolving regulationsSolid experience with product development from ideation to launch, particularly in a financially regulated environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in legal research and analysisExceptional team spirit and a strong instinct for cross-functional collaborationCapacity to navigate complex areas of law and provide practical, actionable adviceProactive and willing to get hands-on with challenges, taking a leading role in shaping strategic company decisions
