Blue Bottle Coffee Korea is looking for a collaborative and action oriented Cafe Operations Manager to join our local team. As Cafe Operations Manager you will be responsible for helping to grow and scale our Korea cafe operations. You will work collaboratively with local leadership to help set our cafes and teams up for greater future success. 

This position will be based in Seoul, Korea, and report to the Cafe Director.

You will :

  • Partner with local functional leaders and cafe leadership to build, integrate, and implement foundational processes
  • Bridge cafe operations and cross functions to define initiatives and systems that allow cafes to successfully evolve, grow, and scale
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative retail data; test hypotheses on what is in the field and how to improve on the current state through targeted pilots and initiatives
  • Collaborate and manage detailed launch plans for new products, tools, systems, and processes; identifying risks, mitigating them, and escalating where needed
  • Maintain performance metrics to measure improvements within the processes
  • Own the internal communications between cafes and all the teams to streamline information flow; ensure that our cafe teams can efficiently absorb and execute information
  • You are :

  • Exceptional at building relationships, gaining quick credibility, influencing, and leading cross-functional leaders across business functions and cafe leaderships to drive initiatives.
  • A voracious, fast, and ever-curious learner, deeply interested in our cafes’ operations and quick to help us improve all aspects of operations. (Including bar flow and back-of-house administration)
  • Able to thrive in a high-paced, fast-changing, ambiguous, changing work environment.
  • Both detail-oriented and strategic but also seeing the big picture.
  • A problem solver with a positive attitude, bringing creativity and new ideas to every challenge.
  • An excellent written and verbal communicator; able to effectively distill a lot of information and detail into the why, how, what, that inspires teams to make change happen successfully.
  • You have :

  • 8+ years of retail leadership or equivalent experience, leading operations, change management, and people development
  • Direct ownership of a P&L preferred
  • Experience collaborating and problem-solving in cross-functional teams
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Excellent skills of Excel and Google platforms
  • Able to communicate in English (Written and verbal)
  • A deep love for great coffee, food, and exceptional guest experiences
