Position Overview:
The Care Specialist Team delivers expert guidance and resources to help members navigate everyday challenges and major life decisions. This role supports members through phone, web, email, and chat—assessing needs, offering education, and connecting them to relevant benefits and resources.
Following in-depth training, Care Specialists assist with care options for aging adults, senior living transitions, and sensitive family dynamics such as memory concerns or financial planning. This role requires professionalism, empathy, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
Schedule: 9am-5:30pm CT on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays,10:30am-7pm CT on Thursdays, 9 am-5:30pm on Fridays, with a rotating shift of 10:30am-7:00pm every 3-4 Fridays. Occasional Holiday shifts based on need.
Location: Uptown Dallas Environment: Hybrid - Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays in our uptown Dallas office, Tuesday, Fridays work from home.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver professional, empathetic service via inbound calls
- Conduct needs assessments using active listening and problem-solving
- Support members via email, web, and chat between calls
- Confirm eligibility, log requests in CRM, and explain benefit plans
- Coordinate with the Research Team to provide tailored referrals
- Meet key performance metrics, including call quality and response times
- Educate members on a range of needs, including child care, elder care, special needs, financial hardship, relocation, and more
- Offer support for members facing urgent or crisis situations
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree
- 2–4+ years, ideally in adult care related services or human services (e.g., social work, public health)
- High emotional intelligence and strong communication (written & verbal)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Goal-oriented, team-focused, and customer-service driven
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning
- Dependable, punctual, and exercises sound judgment

Compensation: $24/hr. (non-negotiable)
The base salary above represents the anticipated national salary for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The salary listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
