About the team

Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product in Saudi Arabia and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space. We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer specializing in interior fitout for warehouse and fulfillment center projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in contributing to real estate feasibility studies, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle, and offering post-contract facilities management support.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with the real estate team to assess feasibility and develop design concepts for interior fitout of warehouse and fulfillment center projects.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project delivery according to specifications and timelines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, resolving any technical issues that may arise.
  • Assist in the procurement process, including obtaining bids, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Provide post-contract facilities management support, ensuring that the completed project meets operational requirements and maintenance standards.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 4-6  years of experience in project management, with a focus on interior fitout for warehouse and fulfillment center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
