About the Role
As a Manager, Ethics & Compliance, you will be responsible for leading compliance initiatives across Careem’s key markets, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. You will manage risk assessments, policy implementation, investigations, and training programs while working with senior stakeholders to drive a strong compliance culture.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain Careem’s regulatory compliance framework, ensuring alignment with applicable local laws and international regulatory standards.
- Lead internal investigations into ethical concerns, regulatory breaches, and policy violations, ensuring fair, thorough, and timely resolution.
- Review, assess, and manage Conflicts of Interest disclosures, implementing appropriate mitigation measures in line with Careem’s ethical standards.
- Design and deliver engaging compliance training programmes across verticals to build awareness and ensure consistent policy adherence.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on emerging compliance risks, regulatory developments, and industry best practices.
- Conduct Third-Party Due Diligence and ongoing assessments on Careem’s Compliance Management System (CCMS).
- Prepare comprehensive compliance reports, dashboards, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership and governance committees.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as CCEP, CFE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles, ideally with exposure across the MENA region.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and managing regulatory compliance programmes.
- In-depth knowledge of anti-bribery regulations, data protection laws, corporate governance standards, and ethics frameworks.
- Proven track record of leading compliance initiatives within a multinational corporation or high-growth organisation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sharp analytical acumen, with the ability to assess complex risk landscapes and deliver strategic, actionable solutions.
